Testimonials

As I approached the age of 50, I began to notice subtle changes in my overall appearance. Who doesn't? But I knew some of these changes were due to a lifestyle that wasn't quite active enough to overcome what I was seeing in the mirror. I looked at my husband one morning and said", For my birthday I would like a personal trainer. Either that, or I'm going under the knife!”

I received a Fit For Life gift certificate complete with personal training for my birthday that year.

I have been training with Patti for almost over two years and I'm so happy with the results. I didn't need to lose weight as much as I needed to tone and strengthen and have better overall conditioning. It's important for me, personally, to know I have Patti waiting for me at the gym three mornings a week. It's too easy for me to say to myself,”I'll go in a little later today,” which ends up being not at all. Even more likely, if I'm working out on my own (which I still do on some “off” days) I tell myself,”That's good enough.” It's often not good enough. Patti holds me to a higher standard, and therefore a higher level of fitness.

I've been weight training seriously now for approximately 6 years. In that time, I've trained with numerous trainers and been a member of most gyms in the Raleigh/Triangle area. Over the years, I've read books on the subject, such as, Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding and I've scoured over websites. I had, what I felt, was a great understanding of what was needed to achieve my goals. But, I was never able to reach those goals no matter how hard I trained. However, in the time I have been training with you, I have learned more than all those books and websites combined. Your wealth of knowledge from conventional training methods to unconventional is seriously incredible. You have helped me correct bad form, work around previous injuries (from previous bad form!), maximize each and every lift, break plateaus and honestly get in the best shape of my life. And it only continues to get better! At 40 years old, it's a great feeling to be sitting by the pool and be in better shape than most of the 20 and 30 year olds out there. My friends keep asking me what my secret is. They work out at their gym 5 days a week. Their gyms all have free weights. They all have treadmills. They all have cycles, row machines, water fountains, sales people, etc... But what makes the ultimate difference, in my experience, is the quality and knowledge of the trainers. And you, my friend, make the difference! After all, not many men my age, after being married for 10 years, can take their shirt off and their wife say "Wow. I'm going to write your trainer a thank you note!!". Well, I'll do it for her! THANK YOU BRYANT!!

I first started training with Lacey in July, when I moved back to Greenville. I lived in a very rural area last year and could not work out like I was used to and I was eating awfully. When I moved back, I stepped on a scale and realized I had gained 10 pounds. I am 5’0 feet tall, so there is not a lot of room for extra pounds. I grew up an athlete, so working out was something I enjoyed, but I had always been able to eat whatever I wanted with no consequences. Once I graduated college though I was not as active and my eating started catching up with me. Training with Lacey has held me accountable to working out, I now coach sports and if was not for Lacey I would not work out in season I would just tell myself I was too tired. I workout with Lacey twice and week and because I know the workouts are going to kick my butt I try to go at least two times a week on my own, so that I do not lose my stamina between workouts. Because of the tough workouts I have realized that I needed to start eating better. I could tell when I was not eating well that I did not have as much energy to get through a workout and I just felt awful during the workout. I have also translated my training over to my coaching. I will modify some of the workouts Lacey gives me for my girls to do and I stress the importance of eating healthy now and not waiting until you aren’t as active and it is too late.  After training for seven months I am feeling so much better about myself. My clothes are fitting better, I have more energy to get through the day, and I am just overall happier. My main goal was to get the definition back in my legs that I had in high school and I am so happy to say that I got that back!
